It has a figure 8 shaft which is about 7/8" long and has 2 break off spots to make the shaft smaller. It has 4 mounting holes on the shaft end. The infinite switch is responsible for sending voltage to the surface heating element causing it to heat up. If the switch is defective, your heating element will not heat.
